What hunting zones does Ontario use?

Government of Ontario sets seasons by Wildlife Management Units (150). North Ground Hunt draws the authority's own boundaries; use your location or search a place there to find the unit you are in.

How current is this Ontario season information?

The status is recomputed for each day from North Ground's certified rules, which were last verified against the official sources on Sep 21, 2026. The authority's own regulations are the law.

Limits

What North Ground does not cover here

  • WMU 51 (Algonquin Provincial Park) is named by no small-game season row. Hunting there is governed by provincial park legislation North Ground does not hold, so every small-game query there returns UNKNOWN.
  • Controlled deer hunts and moose seasons with controlled hunter numbers are published but deliberately not certified: both are allocated per hunt code or by draw and are not decidable from location and date.
  • Migratory game birds are federal and are not covered by either Ontario bundle.
  • Municipal firearm-discharge bylaws, land access and protected-area restrictions are outside the certified result.
  • This page describes sport hunting seasons. It does not describe harvesting under treaty or Aboriginal rights, which is a separate legal context North Ground does not evaluate.
